Bled and Bohinj are one of Slovenia’s natural treasures. Two lakes close to each other but completely different.
Bohinj lake and area used to be a big glacier thousands of years ago. Without the ice coming down the mountain now the only reminder of that time is a beautiful lake. For us it is interesting because it holds one of the best trails and bike routes in the country. Lake Bohinj is a calm and preserved nature area unlike lake Bohinj which is more of a tourist centre. In lake Bled there are numerous hotels with wellness and pool’s overlooking the lake and the surrounding mountains with snowy peaks even in the summer. Triglav peek (2864m) is the highes peak in Slovenia and it can be seen from both lakes. This whole arrea holds many beauties ideal for bike riding.

Spring, Summer, Autumn. Due to Alpine climate winter is not an option. Summer is best if you wish to go swimming in the lakes!

Don’t miss out on this unique experience to visit Slovenia’s natural treasures underneath the Alps. Is there a better way to feel the alpine air while riding your bike ride by the water level of these beautiful lakes surrounded by the snowy peaks of the Julian Alps. A short 2h highway ride from Zagreb takes you to this unique experience! We start in Bohinj taking a ride by the lake to the beautiful Savica waterfall. Then we proceed to Bled lake by climbing up on the Pokljuka plateau which is know to be a nordic ski center. It holds numerous trails through thick woods and shepard paths. Arriving in Bled after a long decent we do a circle around the lake and admire the high peaks of the surrounding Julian Alps.
